Pumpkin Spice Mousse Cake Recipe

Fall means pumpkin spice is back! We recently launched our collection of cake gem molds, where these molds have a geometric pattern that make your creations resemble pretty gemstones. Like all our silicone molds, these cake gem molds are versatile for many different desserts like making chocolate-covered gem cakes (picture cakesicles - without the stick!), mousse or chiffon cakes, or the perfect mini cakes for gifting or an individual-sized dessert.

Since it's fall, we decided to make a pumpkin spice mousse cake. It's super easy, where there are 3 main components to make this mousse cake.

Read on or watch the video at the bottom of this blog post to learn how you can re-create the perfect fall dessert!

Ingredients & Supplies:

  • 16 oz pumpkin spice mousse
  • 3 oz pumpkin butter
  • 6 two and a half inch circles of cinnamon-vanilla spice cake
  • Round geometric mold

Instructions:

  1. Start by preparing your homemade or store-bought pumpkin spice mousse & cinnamon-vanilla spice cake. For the cake, cut them into circles, about 1/2 inch smaller than the diameter of the mold.
  2. Fill a piping bag with the pumpkin spice mousse and another with the pumpkin butter.
  3. Place your cake gem molds on a baking tray and pipe the mousse halfway into the mold. Then pipe your pumpkin butter into the center of the mousse as the filling.
  4. Place the cake on top of the mousse and fill the remaining space with mousse.
  5. Smooth the mousse out on the top and freeze for 2-3 hours.
  6. After the mousse cake is frozen, pop them out of the molds and spray with orange & yellow-colored cocoa butter.
  7. Once painted, refrigerate for 2-4 hours to thaw.
  8. Enjoy your pumpkin spice mousse cake! 🎃 🍁

Storage:

Your pumpkin spice mousse cake can last in the freezer for a few weeks. Simply refrigerate for 2-4 hours to thaw before eating. Enjoy!
