Silicone Gummy Bear Mold

Gummy bears are one of our favorite sweet snacks, but we don't always like all the "stuff" and preservatives that go into them. So, when we discovered how easy it was to make homemade gummy bears, we were excited about a healthier alternative to satisfy our sweet tooth.

Using only 3 ingredients and minimal prep, we'd like to share this easy, homemade gummy bear recipe. The main ingredient to help form the bears is gelatin, which has a lot of benefits like supporting stronger bones! It's also rich in protein, and made from collagen which is great for your hair, skin, and nails.

These homemade gummy bears not only make for a healthy snack, but it can also be a fun activity to do with the family. So, we encourage you to think outside the box and experiment with different flavors.

Happy creating!

Prep Time  Cooling Time Total Time
10 min.    30 min.   40 min.

Ingredients & Supplies:

  • 1 cup fruit juice - we used orange juice, but any will do!
  • 3 tbsp unflavored gelatin
  • 1-2 tbsp honey
  • 2 gummy bear molds

    Gummy bear recipe ingredients

    Instructions:

    1. Pour fruit juice in a small saucepan and gradually add in the gelatin & honey, stirring often. Tip: adding in the gelatin slowly while stirring will help prevent it from clumping together!
    2. Cook the mixture over medium heat and continue stirring. When the gelatin is completely dissolved and the mixture is smooth, turn off the heat.
    3. Get your gummy bear molds and place them on a tray. This will make it easier to move them later on. Optional: spraying the gummy bear molds with non-stick cooking spray can help make removing the gummy bears easier, though it's not required.
    4. Fill both gummy bear molds with the mixture using the droppers provided.
    5. Refrigerate for 30 min., or until the gummy bears are solidified.
    6. Enjoy your tasty creations!

    Storage:

Fresh homemade gummy bears will shrink, so be sure to store any leftovers in the refrigerator and eat within 2-5 days. Although we're pretty sure they'll be gone before then 😊

If you try this recipe and make your own homemade gummy bears, we'd love to see your creations! Please share them with us on our Facebook page or tag us on Instagram @yummygummymolds
